In order to grow you are going to have to be a better version of yourself and therefore you'll haven to grow your identity. If you want to be an author, start thinking about yourself as an author and start thinking about actions that writers take and do those things. The more you see yourself as the identity or person you want to become, the easier it will be to achieve that thing you want.
